J.F. Opadiji is a Professor Computer Engineering and presently the Head in the Department of Computer Engineering, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) and Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Nigerian and a Doctor of Engineering (Dr.Eng.) degree in Computer and System Engineering from Kobe University, Japan. Prof. Opadiji is a Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) Registered Engineer and a Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). His area of specialization is System Informatics and his research interests cuts across optimization of complex systems, multiagent systems, industry 4.0 and science and technology education. He teaches courses in computer programming, bioinformatics, technopreneurship, microcomputer hardware and software systems. He has supervised over one hundred undergraduate students and fourteen postgraduate students. Prof. Opadiji has to his credit over forty local, national and international publications. As part of his contributions to the engineering profession, Prof. Opadiji has served on a COREN accreditation team and was a member of the committee that developed the COREN Benchmark Minimum Academic Standard (BMAS). He also consults in the area of electrical and ICT facilities development, instrumentation and control systems development for public utilities and residential infrastructure.
